QSH9_56 === CTA3 === Île-aux-Coudres, Québec
Québec Short Hops

C A U T I O N: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ THE ENCLOSED 'CAUTION MUST READ' FILE.

Not tested in FS2002. If you are using the Gilles Gauthier's mesh mentioned below, you should try it

I do not charge for my work . However, since I am handicap partially and cannot hold a regular job, I am sure you can appreciate that S M A L L DONATIONS ARE WELCOME. Please contact me at the addy below.

I wish to thank and extend my gratitude to Rick Connolly for his contribution in setting those barrels on fire at the airfield. This was quite a job that Rick did as a lot of adjustments had to be made, including setting the timer for the effects, the size and the colors of the flames and the smoke. Then it was necessary to install the effects over my barrels at the exact coordinates and altitude.

Also, special thanks to Gilles Gauthier who made the landscape work for this project. This includes corrections to the mesh, road improvements, installing the sod farm and the gravel parkings....... Gilles also made the mesh for Québec, see below.

Île-aux-Coudres === CTA3 === Québec Short Hops for FS9

Île-aux-Coudres is situated in the middle of the St.Lawrence river 55 nm downstream from Québec Int`l airport. The region is superb as you will notice if you have the suggested mesh.

I have added a text "About Ile-aux-Coudres". It is short and real informative. If you are too anxious to read it, at least look at the picts.

You should also install my adjacent scenery: 'St. Joseph-de-la-Rive' 'Qsh9_57.zip' as it is the other end of the ferry on the North shore of the St. Lawrence River.

Hope you enjoy your visit at Île-aux-Coudres.

You will realize why this island is really growing in popularity as a choice tourist destination if you visit this web site: http://charlevoix.qc.ca/isle-aux-coudres/

THE ADVENTURE:

This scenery is presented with an adventure. On arrival, switch to your favorite automobile or whatever and take to the road following the signs. This will take you to the different landmarks and other points of interest around the island.

You will find road sings all over on your tour around the island. You may have to 'stew' to go visit inside the ferry boat, or better, use a float plane.

I have added two water start locations in the scenery.

On the billboards you will see pictures of the real landmarks. Bug chasers and nitpickers should have a ball here. Refer the pictures to make sure you found everything. See if you can find 'Fifi la Pew' my mascot skunk and the hitchicker.

Do not forget to visit at dawn, dusk and night also.

If you need a car you can get a nice XK Jag or even an old Indian Motorcycle to move around with by going to the Golden Eagle Squadron at: http://windrfters.com/

=========================================

Québec Short Hops and Québec Bush sceneries are aimed at making VFR flying in Québec most pleasant and attractive as I can make it. So far, for FS9, I have created a few sceneries along the St.Lawrence river and also in the Beauce region and also in the Laurentians. These sites are close enough so you can hop from one to the other using the lighthouses and other aids I included.

I also have made other sceneries for the Montréal region. The enclosed map will show the airfields for which I made sceneries in Québec.

You can upload any of my sceneries, aircraft and aircraft textures if you make a search at AvSim for author Leon Louis.

If you have a special request, please mail me.

I thank also Martin Wright for the program "DXT" and Lee Swordy for the progam "Afcad" and Russel Dirks for the program EZLandclass.

KNOWN ISSUES:(those lines are to keep the bug chasers and nit pickers happy

My rendering of the airfield is therefore fictitious. I was not able to find pictures of it.

The parasol on the picnic tables only show up in the summer months. Only the tables at the 'casse-croute' have parasols.

Nit pickers and bug chasers are NOT welcomed to send me their comments. You do not like it, sorry, I will double your money back. Just send me a copy of your invoice.

I create my sceneries in summer, recommended for best results.

To see the flame and smoke effects, make sure your settings for effects is on.

MESH AND SCENERY ENHANCEMENT: This scenery was made to be compatible and used with Gilles Gauthier's fine FREEWARE mesh and scenery enhancement. See above for all the details.

If you do not use the mesh, I have no idea what it will look like.

- Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the Landclass folder into the above folder you just created.

2- Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the Addon Scenery folder into:
xxxxxxx/Flight Simulator 9/Addon Scenery/Scenery

3- Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the effects folder into:
xxxxxxx/Flight Simulator 9/Effects

4- Place the folder "Île-aux-Coudres" as is, with its contents where you usually install your sceneries.
If you prefer, you may transfer the contents of the texture folder into your main Fs9/texture folder.

- Activate the scenery in the library.

5- Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the 'Scenes du Quebec" folder into the scenery folder you created when
you installed Gilles Gauthier's "scenes_du_quebec_2k4.zip" mentioned above.
